OUR GOALLaunch a Methane/Liquid Oxygen rocket to 45,000 ft in 2019 |
What are we doing?
We are building a rocket powered by liquid Oxygen and liquid Methane, with the goal of flying to an altitude of 45,000ft for the Friends of Amateur Rocketry's Launch Contest . The project includes designing and building the entire rocket including engine, airframe structure, and avionics systems.
How are we doing this?
Design
Executing a project with teams spread out between schools can be challenging, so to maximize efficiency each school has taken on a particular subsystem to design.
|
Build
Each subsystem will be built by the school team that designed it, and final integration will happen in California.
|
Test
Extensive testing is currently planned. Each school will be performing subsystem testing, with full integration testing happening before launch.
